Shopify's own monthly plan and any paid apps are billed to you by Shopify. Bigger projects are quoted first, or $60 an hour.
Google ads
Ads can put you above everyone else on Google right away. You pay Google directly for the ads and you choose how much to spend. My fee is only for setting them up and running them well.
The ads with the green "Google Screened" or "Google Guaranteed" check at the very top of the page. Best for local service businesses like contractors, cleaners, landscapers and tree services. You pay Google per lead, not per click.
Google has to approve your business first (license, insurance and background checks, depending on your trade). Your lead budget is paid to Google and set by you.
Search ads for businesses that do not qualify for Local Services Ads, like online stores, restaurants and shops. Your ad shows when people search for what you sell.
You pay Google directly for clicks and choose your own daily budget. You can pause or change it any time.
Ads or SEO?
A smart plan for most local businesses: run ads to get the phone ringing now, while SEO does the slower work of moving you up. Once you rank near the top on your own, you can spend less on ads, or stop them.
The fine print, in plain words
Questions
The website is your storefront online. SEO (search engine optimization) is the ongoing work that gets that storefront to show up when people search Google for what you do, like "roofer in Vero Beach". A website without SEO is a nice shop on a quiet street.
Only for ads. Your website, SEO and Google Business Profile do not cost anything from Google. If you choose Local Services Ads or Google Ads, you pay Google directly and you decide the budget. My fee is separate and covers setup and management.
With ads, often within days of Google approving them. With SEO, most local businesses see real movement in about 3 to 6 months, depending on how competitive your trade and town are. That is why the SEO plans have a 3 month minimum.
Not at all. Many clients start with nothing. The Get Started form lets you send whatever you have, and I fill in the blanks: a simple logo, the writing, and photos.
You do. Your domain is registered in your name and your site and content belong to you, whether or not you keep a monthly plan.
Hosting is the computer on the internet where your website lives. Every website needs it. You can host with me ($20 a month, or included in Website Care) or keep your own host.
